Second exercise-related fear!
It’s a simple one, but sometimes those root the deepest.
And speaking of roots, I think that’s part of the problem! See when you’re out running sometimes you (or rather “I”) wander off mentally. And when I get lost in my own head I forget to pay attention to the sidewalk and its elevation. This is problematic as here in Canada our sidewalks aren’t always as flat as glass. Sometimes the frost will shift the concrete or more often it’s roots from the trees growing and pushing the path out of its way. Trees just don’t care.
Anyways, I’ve caught my foot a few times and the problem with running is that when your foot catches you don’t just stumble; you become a goofy-looking projectile.
Moral of the story: I pay way too much attention to where and how I’m running for fear that I’ll trip, fall, and lose my face.
