First gallery piece of 2013! Bottleneck Gallery’s Gizmos and Gadgets show is right up my alley. I opted to illustrate the Mach 5 and Shooting Star from Speed Racer! That show (and the film…which I love) was so amazingly crazy that the cars are less prominent to allow for a setting as opulent as the inspiration. But yo. The movie with Emile Hirsch and Wednesday Addams is the closest I’ve ever seen to live action invoking the same response as watching Saturday morning cartoons did. It is insane and amazing. Anyways, basic details for the show:• Opening Friday, January 18th 7–10pm• On display through February 3rd• 60 Broadway, Ground Floor, Brooklyn• Online sales start 12pm(ish) on January 19th Seriously, go watch that movie.
